Post Scores is a Music and Sound Design company based on the simple philosophy and practice that sound is equally important to any visual medium when it comes to weaving the story and dictating the emotional value of any content. Sound is used to canvas a sustainable environment. This applies across the board - Film, Television, Video Games and so on. So much is said or conveyed from sound and music that cannot be said with words. Nor do we feel it can be acheived with a 9-5 creative mentality.

Post Scores is the vision of multiple Emmy Award™ winning composer Douglas Thornton and collaborators to facilitate this post sound phase of productions.

Now do not think that we are saying the visual medium is not as important. We love all of our great cinema-photographers, animators, visual fx people, etc. We are simply stating that so much of the emotional and pace are placed on the shoulders of music and sound to tell and shape the story on so many more levels.

We have seen it so many times where a editor or director says this scene just does not work the way it was scripted or boarded - the performance is just not there and we can't go back and re-shoot. After music and sound are methodically placed in, all of a sudden it becomes one of the strongest scenes of the the production.
NOTE: It always helps to have great performances and beautiful looking shots to work from.

This is why we always encourage involvement with your sound development team in the pre-production phase of any project. It simply allows everyone to be turning the same page and have awareness of possibilities or obstacles before anything is shot, transferred or rendered.

The line between the composers and the sound designers are more blurred in today's media than ever. It is always crucial for any project to have this part of the post seamlessly interact.
